THE Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) board will be deliberating on the position of Fiji Bati coach Wise Kativerata, as the 2026 Rugby League World Cup looms closer.

FNRL chairman Akuila Masi said the board is examining all aspects of the current coaching situation.

“We had our discussion today. We looked at it from all angles; the World Cup is just around the corner,” he said.

He acknowledges the significant pressure from clubs and the broader community with people venting their frustration on social media especially after the Fiji Bati suffered yet another defeat in the hands of Papua New Guinea at the Pacific Bowl.

“The clubs are asking for results and the growth of the game. We have mixed comments from everywhere and the board is aware of that.”

The chairman said they should be able to complete the process this week.

The Fiji Bati have not been able to defeat Papua New Guinea for two consecutive years in the Pacific Bowl.
