IT was a great experience for international player, Alemoh Moses Alfred from Nigeria, as he participated in the Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship 2025 in Fiji.

Alemoh represented Ba’s 4R FC team in the final match against Northpole FC from Labasa, which unfortunately ended in a 3-0 defeat at the Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa on Sunday.

The striker from Nigeria reflected on the competition as a positive and memorable experience, describing the final as tough yet exciting.

Alemoh acknowledged the skill and performance of their opponents, recognising their well-deserved victory in the final match.

“The competition was great, it was a tough final, we were unfortunate with the win, but it was an awesome game,” said Alfred.

“Our opponents were really tough; they played really well to get the win in the final.”

In the face of defeat, Alemoh expressed the unpredictable nature of sports, where luck plays a role in outcomes, and emphasized the team’s efforts and determination despite falling short in the final.

“Some days you get unlucky, and some days you get lucky, you can’t win everything, so all I can say that we gave our best, but we were unfortunate with the win.

“We will keep our head ups, and hopefully come in next year, so do better and win the competition.”

As an international player, Alemoh appreciated the opportunity to participate in the championship in Fiji, praising the management team and players for their support.

He noted the high level of football in Fiji compared to Nigeria and expressed his eagerness to showcase African football talent in Fiji through more game time.

“With the level of competition from my country Nigeria and Fiji is different I can say, Fiji is higher, I will always love to have more game time here in Fiji and show how Africans play Football here.”

Alemoh extended his gratitude to his team, management, and supporters for their backing and encouragement throughout the tournament.

Meanwhile, In the final Northpole FC walked away with $4,000 prizemoney, 4R FC with $1500.
