The Fiji Meteorological Service has warned of more heavy rain and strong winds as Tropical Disturbance TD03F continues to influence weather conditions across the country.
In a media release issued at 1pm today, the Met Service said TD03F remains slow moving over waters east of the Solomon Islands and north of Vanuatu, with a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone over the next five days.
TD03F is forecast to track southeastward and is expected to enter Fiji waters from Tuesday through to Wednesday, bringing periods of heavy rain and fresh to strong winds.
The Met Service warned that possible impacts include flash flooding and potential river flooding, particularly from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Rainfall is expected to become more frequent from Monday night as the system approaches Fiji, with occasional heavy rain and thunderstorms already affecting most parts of the country.
