POST Fiji has officially launched AgroPost, a transformative service aimed at revolutionising agricultural supply chains for Fijian farmers.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Australian Government and facilitated by its Market Development Facility (MDF) arm is designed to bridge the gap between rural farmers and quality agricultural inputs, by making agricultural inputs available to farmers through Fiji’s national postal network.

At the launch event on Thursday, Post Fiji chief executive officer Isaac Mow emphasised the importance of AgroPost in fostering rural development and supporting the backbone of Fiji’s economy.

“AgroPost is more than a service—it’s a commitment to our farmers, ensuring they have timely access to the seeds, tools, and resources they need to thrive,” Mr Mow said.

He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the Australian Government and the Market Development Facility (MDF), whose support helped bring the project to fruition.

Australian High Commission counsellor Andrew Shepherd highlighted the broader significance of AgroPost to Fiji’s agriculture sector.

“By connecting farmers to reliable suppliers and markets through Post Fiji’s trusted network, AgroPost paves the way for inclusive growth and climate-smart farming,” Mr Shepherd said.

He also emphasised the importance of the program’s focus on supporting women, people with disabilities and farmers in remote Fiji.

AgroPost’s launch has also been further strengthened by partnerships with key suppliers such as Organic Plus Fiji, a provider of eco-friendly liquid compost, AgGrow Ltd, a leading seed supplier and Krishan Farm Implements, a specialist in farm machinery.

These collaborations ensure farmers have access to reliable, high-quality, and sustainable agricultural products.

AgroPost is now operational in Post Fiji outlets nationwide.
