The Chinese Embassy has launched a commemorative envelope marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Fiji.
The cover features cultural and national symbols such as the panda and the Koki (Maroon Shining Parrot).
Chinese official Wang Yuan told a briefing on the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee that China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030) was at a critical stage for consolidating foundations and making comprehensive efforts toward achieving socialist modernisation and future national goals.
To achieve this goal, China would put the people first.
“We will unswervingly expand high-level opening-up, share development opportunities with the rest of the world, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity,” he said.
“As we all know, China and Fiji are good friends who share wealth and woe and are reliable partners pursuing development and common prosperity.
“Together, we will usher in the next golden 50 years of China-Fiji relations, bring more and greater benefits to our peoples, and jointly create a better future.”
