Defence played a crucial role in the Yalovata Spearhead team’s triumph over the Islanders team, as they secured a 22-12 victory in the Elimination round of the Super 7s tournament.
Manager Pita Davis reflected on the challenging match, acknowledging the initial lead held by the Solomons team in the first half.
Recognising the need to bolster their defense, Davis rallied the players to elevate their performance and ensure a successful outcome.
“It was a tough match, the team from Solomons was leading in the first half, but i told the boys we need to up our defence to secure the win,” said Davis.
With the unique opportunity to participate in the Coral Coast 7s presenting itself only once, the team was optimistic about their prospects.
“This opportunity to participate in the Coral Coast 7s only comes once, so we were prepared and hoping for a good result.”
