BA football giants 4R FC are hoping for a strong outing as they represent the football-mad town in the Dayal’s Sawmillers National Club Championship (NCC) 2025 West Zonal competition, which kicks off tomorrow at the Fiji FA Academy grounds in Ba.

The Western Division features four teams Ba’s 4R FC, Lautoka’s Ray United, Nadi’s Army and Nadroga’s Downtown competing in a round-robin format for a place in the NCC finals.

Club president Rashnel Kumar said preparations have been positive despite a tight turnaround.

“We have some of our players who just returned on Monday from the Pacific Cup in New Zealand. We also have four Ba district players, plus veteran former Ba reps Malakai Tiwa and Ronil Kumar. We also have foreign players four from Nigeria and one from Solomon Islands — who will boost our performance this week,” Kumar said.

4R FC will be without coach and former Ba rep Kiniviliame Naika, who is out of the country. Veteran duo Tiwa and Kumar will take up player-coach roles for the competition.

They open their campaign against Downtown of Sigatoka tomorrow at 3pm.

In the Northern Division, defending champions Northpole of Labasa will meet Taveuni’s Legends in a one-off playoff on Saturday at Bocalevu Primary School. The winner qualifies as the North’s lone representative.

Six clubs will battle in the Southern Division, split into two groups. Group A includes Friends United FC, Lami Rangers FC, Narere Buses Combine FC and Group B includes Combine Verata FC, League FC, Police FC.
