UNIVERSITY of Fiji Bachelor’s in Nursing graduate Salanieta Kasami has urged young women to capitalise on every opportunity to grow, be it spiritually or educationally.
“We’ve got strength and faithfulness, so anything is possible,” Ms Kasami said.
“You must take the challenge as it comes and try to be appreciative of every opportunity that comes by.
“That’s the sweetness of this great achievement — without the challenges, it wouldn’t be worth it.”
The 23-year-old Draunivou,Ra native was among the 308 students who received their certificates during the university’s graduation ceremony at Saweni in Lautoka yesterday.
“I can tell it’s not because of my strength, but through His, and it was a moment to treasure.”
The most significant challenge for Ms Kasami was being away from her home and family in Suva while staying at a hostel in Namaka, Nadi to attend classes.
“The support that I have through colleagues and lecturers has helped me financially and emotionally. It was just like all in plan with God’s plan.”
Ms Kasami plans to pursue a career in nursing and further her education after attaining a few years of work experience.
