Two men accused of assaulting a pair of brothers in Labasa have been further remanded in custody after appearing in the Labasa Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Manasa Leku and Iliesa Masisiwa, who each face two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, appeared before Magistrate Safaira Ratu.
The court heard that the victims have refused any reconciliation with the accused.
No court order was issued for the victim to appear in court.
The matter was adjourned after the police prosecutor failed to appear.
Magistrate Ratu noted the interest of the public and the safety of the victims as reasons for placing the two men in custody.
Leku and Masisiwa will reappear in court next Monday.
