Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has issued a stern warning following social-media allegations that senior officers are aiding individuals involved in illegal activities, saying the Fiji Police Force will not tolerate attempts to undermine its operations.

Tudravu confirmed that an internal investigation has been launched, but stressed that those making accusations must be prepared to stand by them.

“If the allegations turn out to be false, further action will be pursued against the author of the post,” he said, emphasizing that the organisation will not allow social media to be used to unfairly discredit officers working to disrupt the illicit drug trade.

He added that the Force will not be pressured by individuals who post claims online but then refuse to cooperate with investigators.

Tudravu noted that such allegations often emerge when police intensify operations against drug networks, with senior officers—himself included—frequently targeted.

The Fiji Police Force is calling on Ms. Alexandra Forwood to file an official report and assist with inquiries.

While encouraging formal reporting, Tudravu stressed it must be done responsibly, as false accusations can damage careers and cause significant distress to officers’ families.

Reaffirming the Force’s zero-tolerance stance on police collusion with criminal elements, Tudravu said investigations and disciplinary action will proceed whenever credible reports are lodged.

He added that attempts to divert attention from drug-disruption efforts will not deter police, whose priority remains safeguarding communities from the harms of the illicit drug trade.
