Miss Rakiraki Hospital Shrdha Mala was crowned the Vodafone Rakiraki Festival Queen on Saturday.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vodafone head of recharge and distribution Nilesh Singh commended the contestants for their participation in the week-long carnival.
“Whether you walk away tonight with the crown or with new friendships, know that this experience is invaluable,” he said.
“You have stepped into the spotlight, articulated your vision and championed causes close to your heart.
“View this stage, this moment, as your launch pad. The real work of championing your cause, of advocating for positive change, and of making a tangible difference begins after this evening concludes. Use the voice and platform you have earned this week to inspire action in the months and years ahead.”
Mr Singh also acknowledged the people of Rakiraki for showing up at this year’s carnival.
“You may ask why a community carnival like this remains so close to Vodafone’s heart.
“The answer is simple; it is about the people. Since our doors first opened three decades ago, Vodafone Fiji has been committed to being more than just a telecommunications provider. We have been, and always will be, there for the people of Rakiraki.”
