The Ovalau Roses Netball team showcased their dominance at the Fiji Bitter Yalovata Lomaiviti 7s tournament held at Nasau Park in Levuka yesterday.
As the defending champions, the team left no stone unturned, winning all their pool games.
In their last pool match, they defeated Guma Tua with a commanding score of 37-2.
Team manager Joshua Ligavai expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation leading up to the competition, stating that they were fully ready to compete.
“Preparations for the team was on track, and coming to the competition they was ready,” said Ligavai.
“It has been a good competition so far, we won all our games on day one, and leading to the final day we were ready for battle.”
He adds despite facing challenges such as adverse weather conditions and balancing the commitments of university studies and work, the team remained focused and united.
The players hail from various regions, including Kadavu, Vanua Levu, and Ovalau, creating a dynamic and talented roster.
This diversity contributes to the team’s success and strength on the court.
Ligavai expressed gratitude to the team’s sponsors, families, and supporters for their unwavering support throughout the tournament.
He also commended the players for their dedication and hard work in preparation for the competition.
