THE Miss Fiji Pageant contestants yesterday visited the Aspen-managed Ba Hospital, much to the delight of patients and staff.

Speaking to the contestants, Dr Ilikini Naitini reminded them that the hospital was a private-public partnership, with a 70-bed capacity for patients.

“A lot of people who use our services think that it is a private hospital,” Dr Ilikini said.

“It’s operated in a private-public partnership, and just like any other hospital and as long as you are a Fijian citizen, you will get services for free.”

Dr Ilikini said the hospital had two operating theatres for patients in the Western Division.

“We have got a CT scan; we also have our mental health stress ward for the Western Division, which is also based here at Ba Hospital.”

Miss Vodafone Bula Queen Alumeci Davu commended the hospital management for welcoming the contestants with open arms.

Meanwhile, Miss Friendly North Zeenia Mohammed yesterday graduated as a doctor.
