A first for St Gabriel

ST GABRIEL Nakavika rugby 7s team will be making its first appearance at the Fiji Bitter Yalovata 7s tournament which begins today at Nasau Park in Levuka.

The side is coached and captained by former Tabadamu 7s player Josateki Tuilawaki.

St Gabriel Nakavika has competed in past Fiji Bitter tournaments but this time they get to have a taste of rugby at the Old Capital.

Tuilawaki who hails from Nakavika in Namosi said they have done their part in preparations now its time for the players to execute their game plans on the ground.

“We hope to do well since we have prepared ourselves accordingly for the two-day tournament.

“We understand that it won’t be easy task, but we will do what we have to do to finish the tournament on a high,” he said.

The side was drawn in Pool D alongside Bureta Brothers, SR Amica and Yalovata Rugby.

The tournament starts today with the finals set for tomorrow.
