President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu in Granville last night – SUPPLIED

President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu was welcomed by hundreds of Fijians in Granville, Australia, last night  as he met with members of the Fijian diaspora during his official tour.

The event was hosted by Tabacakacaka Serene of Granville, NSW, who said the gathering reflected the community’s deep respect for Fiji’s Head of State.

President Ratu Lalabalavu, the Tui Cakau, addressed the crowd, acknowledging the important role the Fijian community overseas plays in supporting families and contributing to Fiji’s development.

He thanked the diaspora for preserving cultural values and maintaining strong links with home.

The visit in Sydney is part of the President’s ongoing international tour, during which he has so far travelled to England, Ireland, Italy and Abu Dhabi and India.
