GREAT Council of Chiefs chairman Ratu Viliame Seruvakula has condemned a viral video showing two adults dancing in a way he described as shameful and disrespectful following a recent provincial meeting.

The video shows a man and woman performing sexual acts while dancing on the ground.

Ratu Viliame said the behaviour had no place in a setting tied to traditional gatherings and community leadership.

“… it’s disgusting. It’s embarrassing. When you look at the age of people doing it, individuals, of course everyone has the right to do whatever they want to do. But the question I always ask when I see those things is, what are we trying to teach our children? Is it the kind of behaviour you want to teach your children?”

He also confirmed that the Republic of Fiji Military Forces would present a matanigasau to the Bose Levu Vakaturaga this evening over its suspension in 2007 and eventual abolishment.
