THE Mokani Rugby Club has a lot to be thankful for this season, and a major part of their gratitude has been extended to its sponsor Fa & Company.
The club’s president Joseph Rodan extended his appreciation to the Suva-based law firm for their support throughout the 2025 rugby season.
“Through Fa & Company’s support, Mokani Rugby continues to grow stronger, create opportunities, and nurture rising talent,” Rodan said.
“We look forward to continuing this partnership for the betterment of our players and our community.”
The club finished third overall in the Tailevu Rugby Union’s club competition, which ended last Saturday, and topped the points standings in its tier one division.
He mentioned their sponsorship had proven timely for the club, as it helped empower the development of grassroots rugby and the career pathway process.
This process would set up a road towards progressing from village-level rugby to provincial and national platforms.
Rodan noted the sponsorship helped build up its largely young squad, noting 60 per cent of players representing the Tailevu rugby under-20 team.
30 per cent of players between the ages of 21-25 representing the Skipper senior men’s team while the remaining 10 per cent aged 26 to 30 offered leadership, maturity and experience.
In a statement, the club said this reflected success of their development model in moulding the next generation of provincial players and community leaders.
As their progression in 15s rugby continues, Rodan acknowledged the club’s continuous pursuit of youth engagement through sports.
Mokani has been actively training and preparing to participate in upcoming 7s tournaments around Fiji and Rodan said it was part of a broader effort towards keeping young people engaged, disciplined and focused on their talents while truly promoting the growth of grassroots rugby.
