A heavy rain warning remains in force for the northern and eastern parts of the Fiji Group as an active trough of low pressure continues to bring widespread rain and thunderstorms to the region.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says the system, with its associated cloud band, showers and rain, will continue to affect the affected divisions until later today.
Forecasters warn of occasional to persistent rain, heavy at times, along with isolated thunderstorms across much of the Northern and Eastern Divisions.
Conditions are expected to gradually ease later in the day.
A flash flood warning remains in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas in Labasa, where rivers and drainage systems are swelling due to sustained rainfall.
A flash flood alert is also active for eastern Viti Levu from Serua to Ra, as well as areas across Vanua Levu, with authorities urging communities to remain vigilant.
Rainfall in the 24 hours up to 2am today has been significant, with several stations recording high totals, including Dreketilailai (123.5mm), Wairikicake (103mm), Nakawaqa (97mm), RKS Lodoni (90mm) and Vanua Balabu (71.5mm)
Authorities are advising residents in at-risk areas to monitor weather updates, avoid flooded crossings and take necessary precautions as the wet weather continues.
