The president of the Standard Concrete Tailevu Rugby Football Union, Joseph Rodan praised Nadali Rugby Club and Naqeledamu Rugby Club for their victories in the recent Club Game Competition.

The Grand Final saw Nadali Rugby Club securing the Vanua Shield Tier 1 Competition title, while Naqeledamu Rugby Club emerged victorious in the Matanakilagi Shield Tier 2 Competition.

The event took place at Ratu Cakobau Park Ground 1, Nausori, on Saturday.

Rodan commended all teams that participated in the elimination rounds, noting their discipline, commitment, and sportsmanship throughout the season.

He lauded the high standard of play displayed by all teams, attributing it to their dedication and teamwork.

“I would like to sincerely thank the Club Games Committee, the Tailevu Rugby Referees Association, our Medical Professionals, the Fiji Police Force, our hardworking Ball Boys, and the unwavering support of the Vanua Vakaturaga o Tailevu for their contribution to this year’s successful competition,” said Rodan.

He emphasised that investing in grassroots rugby development is key to strengthening the Tailevu Rugby Provincial Team and contributing positively to Fiji Rugby and the Fijian Drua pathways.

“When we develop our grassroots rugby, we pave the way for sustainable rugby development in Fiji and create clear career pathways for our players.”

Rodan also expressed gratitude to all Affiliated Rugby Clubs in Tailevu for their performance and contributions to the competition.

He praised the commitment and energy of the young Executive Committee Members, noting that they have effectively executed their roles and responsibilities.

Looking ahead, Rodan confirmed that preparations and planning for the 2026 season are underway.

He called for continued support from the Vanua Vakaturaga o Tailevu and all stakeholders to elevate Tailevu Rugby to greater heights.
