Bluegas has marked a major milestone with the official opening of its state-of-the-art Oxygen Plant, a key investment aimed at boosting Fiji’s health system, industrial needs and national resilience.

The facility, located at Vuda in Lautoka was formally launched by the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Atonio Lalabalavu, alongside Bluegas Chairman Mr Hari Punja, highlighting strong collaboration between government and the private sector.

The plant will provide a reliable, locally produced supply of medical-grade oxygen—critical for hospitals, clinics, emergency responses and long-term care.

Bluegas said with local production now secured, Fiji reduces its reliance on imported oxygen and enhances its preparedness for health emergencies.

“This facility represents a monumental step toward ensuring a consistent, cost-effective, and sustainable supply of medical-grade oxygen right here in Fiji,” stated Minister Lalabalavu.

He noted that the plant not only protects the healthcare system but also enhances the nation’s capacity to respond effectively to future medical emergencies.

Bluegas said the project reflects the company’s commitment to national development, sustainability and community wellbeing.
