The soft launch of DATEC (Fiji) Pte Limited’s new Datec Nadi Tech Centre brought together corporate partners, technology leaders, media representatives and long-standing customers to celebrate what the company described as a defining moment in Fiji’s digital journey.

Officiating at the event, DATEC Fiji board chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua said the new Nadi Tech Centre was more than a relocation — it represented a strategic evolution.

“The purpose-built space is designed to support stronger collaboration, enhance customer service and position DATEC closer to the industries driving growth in the Western Division,” he said.

DATEC Fiji chief executive officer Vinit Nand said while DATEC has long served the West, the new facility represented a refreshed chapter driven by smarter infrastructure and deeper customer-centric focus.

“This new office reflects how far we’ve evolved as an organisation and how deeply we value our customers, partners, and people in the West,” Mr Nand said.

Chief operating officer Veer Sharma acknowledged the strategic significance of Nadi in Fiji’s national digital agenda.

“Nadi is not just the gateway to the world — it is becoming a hub for digital connectivity, innovation and economic growth,” Mr Sharma said.

He aligned the opening of the Tech Centre with Fiji’s expanding ICT needs and said DATEC’s growing presence in the West ensured faster response, greater accessibility and a stronger position within Fiji’s growth corridor.

Mr Sharma also announced two major capabilities housed within the new centre.

The first is Datec’s Service Network Operations Centre (SNOC) — a 24/7 monitoring and management hub that provides proactive support, real-time incident response and enhanced cybersecurity oversight for mission-critical systems across Fiji and the Pacific.

The second is Datec’s new Training Centre, purpose-built to uplift ICT capability in the Western Division.

The centre will deliver professional upskilling programs, technical workshops, and industry certifications aimed at strengthening the region’s digital workforce and supporting businesses in their transformation journeys.
