History will favour the FIJI Waters Flying Fijians when they take on Spain this Sunday.
Fiji has a perfect record against the Spain in their last four test matches.
In 2021 the Flying Fijians scored their biggest winning margin against Spain of 30 points in their 43-13 win in Madrid.
Last year Spain came close to registering their first ever win against Fiji.
Despite the 33-19 loss, Spain had dominated most of the match, at one point Spain were leading 19-7 with 20 minutes remaining on the clock.
Fiji, however, regrouped in the final 20 minutes and rallied in true Fijian style scoring 4 unanswered tires.
Sireli Maqala, Sam Matavesi, captain Waisea Nayacalevu, and debutant Setareki Turagacoke all crossed the whitewash keeping Fiji’s unbeaten streak against Spain intact for another year.
A lot will be at stake for Fiji this Sunday as they have yet to register their first win of their Europe tour.
Fiji’s perfect record against the Spanish will be on the line once more, but 2024 has proved that Spain will be hard to beat at home.
The Flying Fijians will take on Spain on Sunday November 22 at 4am at Estadio de Atletismo Ciudad de Málaga in Spain.
