THE Lautoka bus station refurbishment will be completed next month, says Lautoka City Council chairperson of Special Administrators Taitusi Rasoki.

The first phase of the $3million refurbishment was commissioned in August, with the next phase nearing completion.

The first stage involved the Ba bus bay area, while the second will be the frontage of the Market Police Post. The third stage will be the entrance to the Sugar City Mall facing the junction heading towards Namoli Ave.

Since the rehabilitation work began in May this year, buses at the Lautoka-Ba bus rank have been parked along Namoli Ave.

In an earlier interview with this newspaper, special administrator Ajay Kumar said the municipal market would also undergo an upgrade with an additional allocation of between $100,000 and $150,000.

The bus station facelift will create an easier travelling experience for the public.
