The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has issued a safety advisory after several roads across the Central division  experienced surface flooding, with some areas currently inaccessible to small vehicles.

Motorists and pedestrians have been urged to exercise extreme caution while travelling.

FRA highlighted that affected areas include Grantham Road (Gaji Road Roundabout), Karsanji Road, Renwick Street, Greig Street, Ratu Dovi Road – Qarase Road, Kings Road – Valelevu Roundabout, Pritam Singh Road and Railagi Road (inaccessible to all traffic)

The Authority advised drivers to reduce speed, follow all traffic signs and management measures, and maintain designated speed limits at all times.

“The FRA will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as necessary,” the statement said.

Commuters are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly and prioritise safety until floodwaters recede.
