EXTRA Futsal IDC champions Suva Futsal are geared up to make a strong start at the highly anticipated OFC Futsal Men’s Championships League, which kicks off at the Vodafone Arena in Suva today.

The team is set to face Vanuatu champions in their opening match and is determined to kick off their campaign on a positive note.

Coach Vivek Nandan is confident in the team’s preparation for the upcoming competition, emphasising that the players have been training rigorously since the conclusion of the IDC.

“The team has been preparing well for this competition, straight after the IDC the boys started their prep, which is a great boost for us,” said Nandan.

He believes that this early preparation will be advantageous for the team as they take on tough opponents in the tournament.

The match against Vanuatu is expected to be a challenging one, but Nandan is optimistic about his team’s chances.

“Playing Vanuatu is our first game will be a great match; we need to start off strong in our first match to get the win.

“We have a solid line-up this year, got national reps in the squad, so we are looking at a good outing in this year’s competition.”

Nandan recognises the strength of Vanuatu as a team but emphasises the importance of staying focused and working together to secure a victory.

The coach stresses the significance of starting strong in the first game to set the tone for the rest of the tournament.

He urges fans and supporters to rally behind the team and show their support by attending the matches in large numbers.

Nandan encourages everyone to wear white and cheer on Suva Futsal as they strive for success and glory in the OFC Futsal Men’s Championships League.

Suva will face Southern Legions (Vanuatu) at 7pm.
