Fiji paid tribute to its fallen heroes during the national Remembrance Day ceremony at the War Memorial grounds in Suva on Tuesday.
Acting President and Chief Justice Salesi Temo officiated at the event, which began with a two-minute silence and the lowering of the national flag to half-mast.
Wreaths were then laid in honour of those who lost their lives in service.
A remembrance service conducted by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces chaplain included prayers, a sermon, and the sounding of the Rouse before the flag was raised and the national anthem sung.
Among those in attendance were Acting Prime Minister Filimoni Vosarogo, Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka and several Cabinet ministers.
Former president Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, members of the disciplined forces, diplomatic corps, NGOs, and families of ex-servicemen also joined in paying tribute to those who fought and died for Fiji and global peace.
