MISS Smart Key Solutions Adi Asenaca Nava has been using the Vodafone Sugar Festival as an occasion to advocate for the importance of a positive attitude.
Adi Asenaca, one of five contestants vying for the Ms Vodafone Sugar title, hails from Namoli Village and has maternal links to Navisabasaba in Nadroga.
“I’ll try to connect with young people on how important it is to train your mindset not to be influenced or not to be so focused on negativity,” she said.
“I try to always be positive.”
Adi Asenaca shares paternal links to the Turaga Na Taukei Vidilo in Namoli, and hopes to showcase her traditional roots and connections throughout the festival.
“I come from a chiefly family, so I’d like to advocate that as well, but when I joined, they were a bit hesitant because they’re also conservative, especially my grandmother.
“The responsibility, especially being the eldest daughter, there are so many expectations. I had to pray for them, and then at the last minute they agreed.”
