SIGATOKA Electric Limited (SEL), in partnership with Ledvance Osram, celebrated a major milestone in their 38-year collaboration with dual product launch events held this week in Suva on October 29 at the Tanoa Plaza and in Nadi on October 31 at the Tanoa International Hotel.

In a statement, SEL said the launch showcased the latest range of Ledvance products designed to deliver greater energy efficiency, durability and environmentally responsible lighting solutions to Fiji’s growing commercial, industrial and residential markets.

Speaking at the event, SEL’s chief financial officer Navin Vikaash acknowledged the company’s 56-year journey and long-standing partnership with Ledvance, which has been instrumental in shaping Fiji’s lighting landscape.

“From our humble beginnings 56 years ago in Sigatoka, we’ve grown into one of Fiji’s leading electrical contractors, trusted suppliers, with multiple retails stores across the country,” he said.

“Over the decades, we’ve earned a reputation for reliability, strong technical knowledge and long-term relationships built on integrity and service.”

Mr Vikaash said when the company first started, “energy efficiency was barely discussed”.

“Today, Fiji has moved toward sustainable, energy- efficient lighting that aligns with global goals for reduced carbon emissions.

“LED technology now dominates the market, offering superior performance, longevity, and savings for homes, businesses and resorts.”

SEL’s commitment to sustainability, he added, was reflected in its large local stockholding and skilled workforce.

“We carry over $10 million worth of stock across all product categories to ensure that projects never face delays. Whether it’s a resort on an outer island or a large commercial complex, we make sure our customers get what they need, when they need it.”

Ledvance Australia national sales manager John Cartwright gave due credit to the SEL team and their loyal customers.

“Mr Gopal Krishna (SEL’s executive director) and the Sigatoka Electric team have been part of the OSRAM-Ledvance family for nearly four decades and that partnership has helped make Fiji’s cities, airports and resorts brighter and more efficient.”

“Ledvance operates in about 140 countries, employs over 2700 people and holds 1500 product patents,” Mr Cartwright said.

“We control much of our own manufacturing, ensuring our products meet the highest quality and sustainability standards. Globally, we’re working towards Ecovadis certification to ensure we’re doing the right thing by the environment.”

The two events showcased a first look at Ledvance’s new high-performance LED range — lighting solutions designed to meet global efficiency standards while reducing environmental impact.
