THE Vodafone Rakiraki festival was officially launched on Friday with the theme “Rise Above, Building Strong Minds, Bright Futures.”
The week-long event will featured five contestants vying for the Queen title.
Vodafone Fiji head of recharge and distribution Nilesh Singh said the powerful theme could not be more relevant for Rakiraki.
“We all know this region is reflected by incredible natural beauty, from the Suncoast to the fertile lands that feed our nation,” Mr Singh said.
“But the true strength of Rakiraki lies in its people. You are known for your generosity, your warmth and your ability to bounce back from any challenge.
“The theme ‘Rise Above’ acknowledges that life and community development require resilience. It calls on us to look past temporary setbacks, whether they are environmental, social or economic. It reminds us that our greatest asset is our collective determination.
“And this rising is powered by ‘Building Strong Minds’. A strong mind means prioritising education, fostering mental health awareness, encouraging critical thinking, and ensuring our children and youth have the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
“When we invest in strong minds, the ‘Bright Future’ for Rakiraki is not just a hope, but a certainty.”
He said for three decades Vodafone Fiji’s mission has been to connect Fijians and enable progress.
“We provide the digital highways that allow students to access educational resources, businesses to trade globally and families to stay connected, no matter the distance.
“We are here to help every community, including Rakiraki, rise above limitations and seize the digital opportunities that shape a brighter future. We are proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you as the major sponsor of this powerful community celebration.
“To the incredible young women vying for the Queen title this year, you are now the ambassadors of this vital message. I encourage each of you to fully champion this year’s theme. Use this platform not just for glamour, but for advocacy.”
The Vodafone Rakiraki festival will be held from November 22 to November 29.
