THE Fiji Police Force has received a significant boost with a generous $15,000 contribution from TotalEnergies Marketing (Fiji) Pte Ltd towards this year’s Ratu Sukuna Bowl Rugby Tournament.

This tournament serves as a key platform for the Force’s community outreach and anti-drug awareness efforts.

TotalEnergies Vice President B2B Eroni Verevukivuki expressed the company’s honour in supporting the annual event, highlighting its importance as a crucial partnership between the Police and the public in raising awareness about drugs, HIV, and other social issues.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Aporosa Lutunauga, warmly welcomed the contribution, emphasising its significance in empowering the Force’s mission to build safer and healthier communities.

“The Sukuna Bowl is not only a rugby match, but also a platform in which the Fiji Police launch its endeavours to fight crime in Fiji,” said Lutunauga.

This tournament serves as a pillar of their community policing strategy, utilising sports as a means to engage with the public and address pressing social issues.

“We are using this as one of the pillars of community policing, which is policing Fiji through sports, and community and the Sukuna Bowl is part of that, it is a platform where we launch our awareness and combat crime is relevant and ongoing in Fiji.”

He adds that this support aligns with the Fiji Police Force’s Strategic Plan 2025–2029, which focuses on strengthening partnerships to achieve a safe and drug-free Fiji.

He adds that since the Police are hosting this year’s Ratu Sukuna Bowl tournament, the sponsorship will be used to cover accommodation, transportation, and refreshments for players across all sporting events.

He says that the Ratu Sukuna Bowl Tournament has become a platform where law enforcement, corporate partners, and the public unite to tackle crime and promote positive lifestyles.

Lutunauga extendes his gratitude to TotalEnergies for their continued support and urged all Fijians to stand together in the campaign for a drug-free Fiji.

The 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Games are set to kick off on November 17-19 in Suva, with additional events scheduled on November 20-21 in Labasa featuring Soccer, Service Women’s Rugby, and the Men’s main Rugby matches.
