The Tunisia Under-17 football team delivered a commanding performance against Fiji U17, securing a 6–0 victory in their opening match at the FIFA U17 World Cup fixture early this morning in Qatar.
From the opening whistle, the Tunisian side dominated possession and displayed superior pace and technical skill, leaving the young Fijian squad struggling to find rhythm.
Tunisia opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Wassim Slama converted a neat assist from Lyes Ghodhbane. Just six minutes later, Firas Tayechi doubled the lead following a clever setup by Aymen Touati, sending Tunisia into the halftime break with a 2–0 advantage.
The Tunisians wasted no time extending their dominance after the restart. Ranim Achari struck in the 46th minute, capitalising on a defensive lapse by Fiji. Slama returned to the scoresheet with his second goal of the match in the 53rd minute, pushing the score to 4–0.
Coach Hatem Nafti made several tactical substitutions in the 62nd minute, introducing Aymen Saidi, Saif Abdallah, and Mohamed Tlili, all of whom made an instant impact.
Saidi scored Tunisia’s fourth goal in the 74th minute, assisted by Tayechi, while Abdallah added the fifth six minutes later, finishing a pass from Adem Grira. The rout was completed in the 86th minute, when Tayechi bagged his second of the match from a cross by Chaabane A., sealing the emphatic 6–0 result.
