THREE Indian professional boxers are filled with excitement and confidence as they prepare for the Stratum Construction ZEG Kings Boxing Promotion event taking place on Saturday.
One of these boxers is 26-year-old Pawan Kumar, who will be challenging Australian boxer Andrew Maloney in the Super Bantamweight category.
Hailing from a family deeply involved in the sport, with his grandfather serving as a coach for the Indian National Boxing Federation, Kumar is no stranger to the world of boxing.
Despite facing three losses in his previous international contests, Kumar remains undeterred, having secured victory in eight matches on home soil, with six of those wins coming by way of knockout.
In the Lightweight division, 24-year-old Aarti Hoodha is gearing up to go head-to-head with Laite Nanovu.
With a focused mindset and determination, Hoodha is ready to demonstrate her skills in the ring.
On the other hand, 23-year-old Rohit is set to make his international debut in a Welter Weight title bout against Filise Nabua.
Expressing his eagerness for this milestone fight, Rohit is confident in his abilities, particularly highlighting his strong left hook and his goal of achieving a knockout victory.
“I’m really excited, my opponent Nabua is a good fighter, but we will see in the ring,” said Rohit.
“I have a strong left hook, and I’m hoping to get a knockout in this match.”
Having commenced his boxing journey in 2014, Rohit is looking forward to showcasing his talent abroad for the first time and is eager to put on a good performance.
“I started my boxing career in 2014, and this is my first about out of the country and I’m hoping for a good fight.
“Being in Fiji for the first time is great, and I like to call the boxing fans to come out and support me.”
The highly anticipated main event features Junior Binnu Singh squaring off against Apichart Klintal of Thailand.
The event will take place at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
