The Tamavua Bulls team is striving for more player exposure as they aim to make a mark in the Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) week three of club games held at the multi-Purpose court in Laucala yesterday.

Despite facing financial challenges, the team’s primary goal is to create pathways for the youth in their community and instill discipline through the sport of volleyball.

The team consists of three teams, one girls’ team and two men’s teams, all actively participating in the Suva Volleyball Association.

The team leaders are dedicated to providing a platform for the youth in their community, offering them the opportunity to play, earn money for their families, and steer clear of negative influences such as drugs.

Secretary of the team, Makanofo Brandon Taufaga, expressed his gratitude for the chance to bring the youths of their community together for the weekly competitions.

He acknowledged the accomplishments of the teams and emphasised the importance of providing positive outlets for the youth to channel their energy and talents.

” We are glad that we have an opportunity to bring the youths of our community to come and be part of this weekly competition,” said Taufaga.

“It has been a long since the team has been together, and I can say there are a lot of achievements our teams have accomplished.”

“This generation of youths are influenced with a lot of negative things, especially drugs and other things, so we are building a pathway for our youths in our community, to change and to play sport, and make money to feed their families.”

He adds despite facing financial constraints, the team is determined to grow and succeed in the years to come.

They extend their gratitude to the Suva Volleyball Association for their support and for providing a platform for their players to showcase their abilities.
