A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Stratum-sponsored ZEG Kings Boxing Promotion and WOWS Kids Fiji yesterday, ahead of the promotion’s November 1 event at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
The signing took place at the head office of All Freight Logistics Fiji Limited (AFL) in Vatuwaqa.
The memorandum will see WOWS Kids Fiji come on board as a partner in the lead-up to the promotion in a first-time move for both parties.
Promoter Nahroon Buksh highlighted how ventures as such were a worthy cause to commit to.
“We, the ZEG Kings Boxing Promotion, believe that giving something to the community is a very worthy thing to do,” Buksh mentioned. He added there were plans to forge new partnerships with other non-governmental organisations and boxing clubs in the future.
“We’ll try to help them with some boxing equipment, their trainers, we can pay them, so it’s all about developing boxing in the country and we are very much pleased to partner with WOWS Kids, starting off with them first and we have more things to do in the future.”
WOWS Kids Fiji’s manager operations Mere Williams said the partnership would allow for the organisation to venture into a new avenue such as boxing.
“It’s in a different community that just gives us more opportunities to be able to create more awareness around childhood cancer,” Williams said.
