PRIME Minister and The People’s Alliance party leader Sitiveni Rabuka has called on his party supporters to set aside their differences, forget the exchange of angry letters and emails including their social media posts from critics.
Leading the party’s campaign in the 2026 General Election, Mr Rabuka urged their party members to stay true to the party’s vision, mission and values.
This, he said, revolved around serving Fijians and establishing a united, happy and prosperous nation under God in a just and democratic manner.
“Today (yesterday) I want to remind us of who we are. This party matters and what defines us are our vision, mission and values,” he said.
“There were exchanges of angry letters and emails before this meeting, this morning (yesterday) but I want us all to forget those and welcome us all in the spirit of true People’s Alliance.
“We are an alliance, we are a group of like-minded people and like- minded leaders.
“We acknowledge the roles of past leaders, present leaders and emerging leaders.”
Mr Rabuka reminded his party members that to govern, didn’t mean just to get into Parliament.
“We are here to govern the country and deliver an enabling environment for all citizens of Fiji to live productive and honourable lives, respect their human rights and civil liberty.”
“We will always have differences. No organisation has ever had a totally united view.
“I encourage you all to speak out and use the communication channel within our party.”
He said the party consisted of various members from all walks of life and different age groups.
“We have very old members and very young members. So we must, everyday cope with differences, our generational differences with our views in current affairs that affect our nation, but let’s work together and stand united.”
