WITH round-robin competition wrapped up for the Skipper Cup, the focus for Suva was to return to the drawing board ahead of their quarter-final against Nadi today.

This was the message relayed by head coach Solomone Nute, following their 16-13 victory over Nadi at Bidesi Park last Saturday.

“We are going back to the drawing board, we are going to review our game,” Nute said.

While the capital city team sees what will come next as the quarter-finals loom closer, he highlighted how the team effort had been throughout the season.

“We have to go back to the drawing board and we have to research how we can stop a big team and now this is the last game of the round,” he mentioned.

“And now this is the last game of the round, and we are focused on the quarter-finals next – we don’t know who we are going to play.

“But for us, it’s a great effort from the boys, they gave it their all.”

Nute also commended his players for their win over Nadi on Saturday.

“This was a very close game and we can see that Nadi comes with the volume of Drua on board.

“But we stood our ground, we trust our system, we trust our boys and of the game, they do well.”

Suva faces the ruggers from the Jetset Town at Churchill Park in Lautoka at 3pm.
