THE FijiFirst party, founded by former prime minister Voreqe Bainimarama in 2014, is now non existent following a winding-up order issued by the High Court in Suva yesterday.
The party was deregistered in July last year after it failed to amend its constitution within the required deadline.
Justice Thushara Rajasinghe directed the Official Receiver to take charge of the party’s affairs and ordered that a list of its assets and liabilities be submitted within 21 days from the date of service.
The Official Receiver is also tasked with supervising the party’s remaining assets and obligations.
Justice Rajasinghe has also prohibited the disposal or transfer of any property or assets registered in the party’s name.
The Registrar of Titles has also been instructed not to register any property transfers unless approved by the Registrar of Political Parties.
