THE case of a man charged in relation to the death of a woman who fell from a Ferris wheel in Suva in 2023, has been transferred to the High Court in Suva.

The decision was made when Ashneel Nath, an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) inspector, made his first appearance before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne yesterday on a count of manslaughter arising from breach of duty.

Prosecutor Unal Lal had no objection to bail but sought strict and standard bail conditions.

Mr Nath was released on a $1000 non-cash bail bond with standard bail conditions.

His sureties, a longtime friend and a work colleague, who are bonded for the same amount, were reminded of their responsibility to ensure Mr Nath appears in court.

The case has been adjourned to November 21.
