Fiji’s national e-Transport system will take another major step forward this month with the launch of a new QR Pay feature, aimed at making public transport payments faster and easier for commuters.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, MSMEs, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, announced that the new feature will go live on October 20 for both Android and iOS users.
“The QR Pay feature will give Fijians more flexibility and convenience in how they pay for their travel,” he said.
According to the latest update, the e-Transport platform now records over 128,000 daily users and 320,000 active monthly users, supported by 492,000 registered cards.
Mr Kamikamica said the progress of the e-Transport system reflects Fiji’s broader digital transformation journey. “The success of this system shows how digital innovation can simplify everyday life and promote inclusion,” he said.
