THE 2025 Futsal Inter-District Championship is set be an interesting and exciting one as the pools for this year tournament have been confirmed.
Defending champions Suva will have their hands full this year as they are drawn with western giants Ba, northern champs Labasa and Nasinu in Pool B.
In Pool A, Lami, Tailevu/Naitasiri, Lautoka and Rakiraki will battle it out, with Lautoka and Tailevu/Naitasiri looking like the team to beat.
Fiji FA general manger operation Anushil Kumar has commended the rise in competitiveness level at the futsal national league, shaping the landscape for the 2025 Futsal IDC competition.
He has also declared Rakiraki as one of the dark horses of this year’s competition.
“If we are thinking of the name Rakiraki, they finished second in the Extra Futsal League in the Western Division, beating giants like Lautoka and Nadi to finish in second seed while Lautoka in third, so that (is) how competitive our Futsal tournaments have become,” Kumar said.
He adds that fans can look forward to some thrilling and fast paced action matches as the team battle for the prestigious Futsal IDC.
This year’s tournament will be held from October 16-19 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
In a bid to support local futsal, entry will be free to all matches.
The fixtures for the competition will be announced in the coming days.
