A young couple and their two-year-old son have died in an early morning house fire at Meigunyeh, Nadi, today.
The victims have been identified by relatives as Ziyad Ali, 29, his wife Zakia Ali, 25, and their son Hussein Ali, aged two.
The house was owned by Rahmat Ali, the father of Ziyad Ali.
The three victims were found in the washroom area.
A large number of people had gathered at the house this morning.
“With deep sadness, we announce the passing away of Ziyad Ali, his wife Zakia and baby Hussein in a trageic fire at Maigania, Nadi this morning,” said Fiji Muslim League in a social media post.
“Janaza details will be announced later. May Allah azza wa Jal grant them Jannatul Firdous and patience to the family.”
Police and National Fire Authority are investigating the cause of fire.
