HOLIDAY Inn Suva is the official accommodation partner the ‘Hibiscus Festival’ this year, hosting contestants and empowering voices that inspire change.

“More than an act of hospitality, this partnership reflects the hotel’s belief that thriving businesses and thriving communities are inseparable,” the hotel said in a statement yesterday.

“For over half a century, the ‘Mother of all Festivals’, Hibiscus Festival has been more than pageantry.

“It has given young Fijians a platform to speak on issues that matter, from education and health to the environment, inspiring conversations that ripple far beyond the festival grounds.

“By opening its doors to contestants, Holiday Inn Suva is helping to nurture those voices and celebrate a tradition that brings Suva together.”

Holiday Inn Suva general manager Mohammed Feroz said the Hibiscus Festival is a cornerstone of Suva’s cultural identity “and we are proud to support it through our partnership with Suva City Council.”

“Our support helps ensure the festival remains a vibrant celebration that brings people together and strengthens our community,” Mr Feroz said.

“This collaboration also reflects IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow commitment, promoting sustainable tourism, supporting livelihoods and reducing environmental impact.”

Hibiscus Festival coordinator Ellen Whippy-Knight acknowledged the support which has allowed contestants to focus on championing their causes and representing their communities with pride.

“The partnership goes beyond logistics. It reflects a genuine spirit of collaboration that strengthens the festival and the people it serves,” Ms Whippy-Knight said.

The festival continues until tomorrow and will culminate in the crowning of Miss Hibiscus 2025.
