Fiji will launch its first Maritime Security Strategy in the coming months.
This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, during the opening of the Vuvale Maritime Essential Services Centre in Lami last week.
He said the Maritime Security Strategy will align with Fiji’s National Security Strategy and lay out a clear roadmap for how Fiji will protect its ocean.
“It will reflect our values, our aspirations, and our unique vulnerabilities as a small island developing state,” Mr Rabuka said.
” And it will ensure that we use this new facility — and the partnerships that underpin it — to their fullest potential.”
