The Fiji Police Force is set to increase operations next week in extensive preparations for the FMF Interdistrict Championship (IDC).
Police Spokesperson Wame Bautolu confirmed the stepped-up security efforts were specifically focused on the major football tournament, which is scheduled to run for several days from October 7.
The event will take place at the Four R stadium at Govind Park in Ba.
“Just like for past big games that took place early in the year, the Fiji police will continue to provide that conducive environment,” he said.
Bautolu said the objective of the strengthened police presence would be to guarantee a secure and orderly atmosphere, ensuring the safety and security of all players, officials, and spectators.
It is understood police presence will cover the stadium grounds and surrounding areas for the duration of the tournament.
