Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has appointed two new Assistant Ministers.
Sachida Nand has been named Assistant Minister for Public Enterprises.
Shalen Kumar takes up the role of Assistant Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs.
Both will be officially sworn in by the President tomorrow.
The Prime Minister also announced a portfolio reassignment for Aliki Bia, who moves from Assistant Minister for Information to Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports.
In a statement, the Prime Minister said the appointments reflect his Government’s commitment to strengthening inclusion, youth development, and enterprise accountability.
Mr Nand, the former CEO of Fiji Cooperative Dairy, brings extensive experience in governance and enterprise management. He is expected to drive greater transparency and growth within Fiji’s public enterprises.
Mr Kumar is known for his work in community engagement and understanding of Fiji’s cultural diversity. He is expected to foster social cohesion across the country’s multi-ethnic landscape.
Mr Kumar and Mr Nand entered Parliament as Fiji First MPs.
In March this year both wiithdrew their support for Leader of Opposition, Inia Seruiratu and joined the group led by Ioane Naivalurua.
