Suva Rugby team head coach Solo Nute emphasised the importance of being both physically and mentally prepared as they gear up to face Naitasiri in a crucial doubleheader match in Naitasiri’s home ground for round 8 of the Skipper Cup and the Challenge for the INKK Farebrother Trophy.
Suva currently sits at the top of the points table with 29 points, closely followed by Naitasiri in second place with 25 points, setting the stage for a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash.
“Training sessions in the lead-up to the match have been intense and focused on addressing weaknesses from our previous game against Nadroga,” said Nute.
“We have a good depth of players that have come on board, and everybody are hands up and they want to participate during this challenge.”
Nute emphasised the significance of the upcoming fixture against Naitasiri, highlighting the need to minimise mistakes and play to their full potential in order to come out victorious.
“As we also draw closer to the end of the competition, we can see that all teams are vying for quarter-final position, and for us Naitasiri is in the second place on the points table, and this is a do or die match for us.
“It’s a double header we will be focusing on our strength, and for us to move forward, we must minimise our mistakes, and we probably will do well in the game on Saturday.”
Nute expresses gratitude for the fans’ support and calls for their continued prayers and encouragement as Suva prepares to take on this do-or-die challenge.
Suva will face off against Naitasiri at 3pm on Saturday at Naluwai ground in Naitasiri.
In other Round 8 matches, Nadroga will face Nadi, Ba plays Vatukoula, Macuata meets Malolo while Lautoka host Tailevu.
