THE Rewa women’s team secured a spot in the Royal Tea Ranadi Cup semifinals after a thrilling 51-43 victory over Cakaudrove at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.
Despite Cakaudrove’s relentless pressure, Rewa displayed composure and took control early, leading 32-7 at halftime.
Cakaudrove fought back in the second half, but Rewa’s pace and teamwork proved to be the difference.
Captain Emi Diravuso credited the team’s hard work in training for the impressive performance.
She acknowledged the tough challenge posed by Cakaudrove and praised her teammates for sticking to the game plan.
“The team have been preparing well for this match, the girls have put on their hard work during training, and the result just speaks for itself,” said Diravuso.
“We can say it was a tough match, Cakaudrove was a tough team, hats off to our girls for sticking to our game plan.”
She emphasised the importance of learning from their mistakes and improving for the upcoming matches.
“We will go back to the drawing board, work on our mistakes especially in our defence and get ready for the semi-finals that’s ahead.”
As they prepare for the semifinals, Diravuso expressed gratitude to the team, fans, family, and supporters for their unwavering support.
