The inaugural Fiji National University Grand Alumni Fundraiser Ball was held at the Sheraton Fiji Beach & Golf Resort last Friday.
The event brought together FNU alumni, staff, friends and family members of the prestigious institution to raise funds for underprivileged students.
President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and First Lady Emily Lalabalavu were special guests at the event. FNU vice-chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba said the evening was far more than a gala — it was a testament to what a community could accomplish when it shared a common purpose and passion.
“Each of you here tonight (Friday night) represents a vital thread in the rich tapestry of FNU’s story,” she said.
“From our beginnings, through our present accomplishments, to the boundless possibilities ahead. Our alumni are living proof of the FNU legacy. Your achievements after graduation illustrate the life lessons learned and the education you received during your time with us.”
She added that the FNU alumni were more than just graduates.
“You are lifelong ambassadors, shaping communities, inspiring change, and reinforcing the values that define FNU.
“Tonight (Friday), we celebrate the strength of this extraordinary network.”
