The total estimated value of construction work put-in-place for the June quarter of 2025 stood at $143.6 million, according to new data released by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics (FBOS).
This marks a 10.2% increase ($13.3m) compared to the March quarter of 2025, and a 17.2% rise ($21.1m) compared to the same period last year.
The data, based on returns from all registered private building and civil works contractors, reflects short-term performance across both private and public sector construction.
The private sector accounted for 50.7% of the total value ($72.8m), slightly ahead of the public sector, which contributed 49.3% ($70.8m).
In terms of work type, civil engineering works made up the largest share at 51.4% or $73.7m, new buildings and capital repairs followed at 37.8% ($54.3m) and current repairs and maintenance accounted for 10.8% ($15.6m).
FBOS said the statistics provide useful insights for policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders tracking trends and growth in the construction sector.
