IT’S all systems go for the Fiji School Boys under-18 rugby team today, when they face the Australian School Boys in Canberra, Australia.
The match-day 23 for the young side was announced yesterday and head coach Peniona Ranitu said the time had been coping well in the lead-up to the match.
With this match against Australia, he added the team plans to move the ball around and play the way they want to.
“We are going to play like we always want to play, move the ball around, fast pace, fast game, edge to edge, trying to let the opposition guess every time we have the ball.”
The team also has a mix of new and experienced players, some of whom were part of the national under-20 squad last year and Ranitu said their experiences would be vital on the field.
“We really need their experience, we really need their advice, especially when they are on the field and all the coaches are outside.
“So that’s where we are going to need them, we need their expertise and their experience to move us forward.”
The School Boys face their Aussie opponents at Viking Park at 2pm today.
